I keep coming back because the staff helped with sim cards, and the place has Wi-Fi, electric kettle, cookware, and air conditioning. It suits me perfectly for a city break. No regrets!

Stuck in a shared kitchen with strangers, had continental breakfast. Complimentary wifi was great, I felt so pampered. Only 1 minute from the backpacker area!
Wow, what a treat that there's a rowdy rooster outside squawking non-stop. Such a peaceful lullaby.

The rooms at The Joy Hostel are absolutely amazing! They are decorated in a way that makes you feel right at home. I loved the cozy carpeting and the clothes rack, which made organizing our stuff so easy. The free welcome drink was a nice touch too.
Personally, I'm not a fan of shared bathrooms.

I absolutely loved the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of The Joy Hostel. The decoration had a charming and homely touch, which made me feel like I was staying at a dear friend's house. The general areas were well-maintained and clean, providing a comfortable space for relaxation and socializing. Plus, the hostel's accessibility was remarkable for senior people like me. The staff was always ready to assist and ensure that I had a pleasant stay, offering assistance with my luggage and providing clear directions. It made me feel at ease and welcomed throughout my visit.
If I had to suggest one improvement for senior travelers, it would be for the children working there to provide a more organized and clear system of information regarding nearby attractions and activities suitable for older guests.

As youngsters, we loved the friendly staff and the personal touch they added, like a hand-drawn map. the rooms were clean and the beds had privacy curtains. Great location for accessing the backpacker district and all the bars and restaurants. the hostel's proximity to bus stations made it incredibly convenient for us. Plus, the free breakfast and happy hour with free beer allowed us to socialize with other travelers.
Felt completely relaxed, nothing was too much trouble.

Stayed at Joy Hostel and had an amazing time. the location was great, with bars, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. the staff, two friendly girls, were extremely helpful and made our stay even better. They organized two fantastic tours to the Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta, which were both excellent value. the dorms were comfortable and quiet despite being close to the bustling walking street. a highly recommended place to stay. Cons: Everything was spot on! 😊.

The staff at the hostel were incredibly friendly and always had a smile on their face. the beds were really comfortable, providing one of the best night's sleep during my trip. the location was great, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and nightlife within walking distance.
The lack of a common area made it difficult to meet other travelers, which was a downside for solo travelers. the hostel only had one shower and toilet per floor, resulting in some waiting time.

The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, always with a smile on their face. They even helped me organize my tour and printed out my visa and bus ticket for me. The location of the hostel was perfect, right by the backpacker street but tucked away in a small alley, so it wasn't loud at all. Plus, it was within walking distance to all the key sites in the city. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well to keep the room cool. , they offered a free beer between 6:30 and 7:30 pm, which was a nice treat.
The stairs to the upper floors were quite hard to climb, especially if you have any injuries or knee problems. the double room I stayed in had a glass mezzanine overlooking the lobby, so it could get quite bright and loud when people were coming and going.
